Heaton Planning have provided planning guidance and advice to Powerfuel Plc. In 2009, Heaton Planning secured S36 Consent from DECC for a 900MW Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) Power Plant.

This near zero emissions power station will be fuelled by Powerfuel's extensive coal resources at its Hatfield colliery. This will be the world’s first large scale IGCC power plant with near zero emissions and has been endorsed by the UK Government and European Union.
