Pickles blocks Bedford Energy from Waste scheme

Communities Secretary Eric Pickles has rejected the advice of a planning inspector who recommended the approval for an energy recovery facility planned for land at Milton Ernest, Bedford. Heaton Planning acted as expert planning witness at the Public Inquiry on behalf of Bedford Borough Council.

Heaton Planning are pleased to announce that the extension to UK Coal’s Lodge House surface mine was unanimously approved by Derbyshire County Council’s Planning Committee following a recommendation from planning officer’s to approve. This has resulted from 12 months of carfeul negotiation between all parties and secures the future production of coal from the Lodge House site.
