Our Services - Building Stone

Building Stone and roofing stone is used for repair of old buildings and structures, and for new construction. Products range from architectural masonry (dimension stone), cladding, natural stone 'slates', dressed walling stone, rough walling, kerbs, setts, external landscaping and paving, monumental stone, and internal flooring, fireplaces and ornamental features. Heaton Planning has successfully obtained planning permission in the North East and East Midlands for the continued extraction of building stone. Heaton Planning are also involved in a number of building stone sites in the South West. Recent projects include:

Clipsham Quarry, Rutland

Heaton Planning was commissioned to prepare and submit the planning application, supporting statement and Environmental Statement for the consolidation of operations under the old mineral permission and for a new extension to Clipsham Quarry securing both aggregate and building stone reserves.
Outcome: Resolution to permit subject to the completion of a legal agreement

Heaton Planning was commissioned to submit schemes to satisfy planning condition requirements. This included a submission seeking approval for crushing and processing of waste stone to produce aggregate and the project management of contractors archaeologists regarding the maintenance of 3 buildings of archaeological and historical importance.
