Heaton Planning has experience in the development of commercial and industrial sites, including the regeneration of brownfield land. Heaton Planning are currently involved in a large mixed use regeneration scheme at Stainforth/ Hatfield, Doncaster as well as strategic scale development at Clowne near Bolsover.
In providing planning guidance and services for commercial and industrial development schemes Heaton Planning pay full regard to the promotion of sustainable economic growth as advocated in Planning Policy Statement 4 (PPS4) ‘Planning for Sustainable Economic Growth’.

Hatfield Power Park, Doncaster
Client: Coalpower Ltd
Heaton Planning – commissioned to prepare and submit a Planning Application and Environmental Statement for colliery redevelopment, including a range of employment uses, mining operations, spoil disposal, a 430MW power station, and long term site reclamation. Planning Permission was granted.
Stainforth and Hatfield Regeneration Link, Doncaster
Client: Waystone Ltd, Speed Developments Ltd, MOTO Hospitality Ltd
Heaton Planning – commissioned to prepare and submit a Planning Application and Environmental Statement for a package of regeneration proposals, including a new link road to the M18, major employment development and environmental improvement. After lengthy discussions with the local authority and the Highways Agency, and following the signing of a S106 legal agreement, Planning Permission was granted.
Mixed Use Development - Clowne, Bolsover
Client: Waystone Ltd
Heaton Planning – promoting a large area of land (through the Local Development Framework) to the north of Clowne for a strategic scale mixed use development including business uses, residential development and recreational uses. The land has been identified as a Preferred Option in the latest consultation of the LDF.
Precast Concrete Works, Lincolnshire
Client: ABM Precast Solutions Ltd
Heaton Planning – undertook an Environmental Impact Assessment, prepared and submitted a Planning Application and Environmental Statement for a precast concrete works to operate as ancillary development to a sand and gravel quarry at Norton Disney, Lincolnshire. This required the placement of a large industrial building and gantry cranes in a sensitive rural location. A resolution to grant Planning Permission subject to the signing of a S106 legal agreement was approved in January 2010.
Manufacturing and Storage of Dry Fishing Bait and Tackle, Nottinghamshire
Client: Dynamite Baits
Heaton Planning – commissioned to prepare and submit a Planning Application for the change of use of agricultural buildings along with a variation of existing planning conditions to allow the manufacturing and storage of dry fishing bait and tackle. Planning permission was granted.
Industrial Units – Ilkeston, Derbyshire
Client: Merritt Plastics
Heaton Planning – commissioned to prepare and submit a Planning Application for three industrial units and to provide ongoing planning services for future operations.
