Consultancy Services to Council Planning Departments – Including School/Educational Development Services

Heaton Planning has provided a consultancy service to a number of Council Planning Departments.  We provide consultancy services in Development Control casework (including Council’s own Reg. 3 developments), planning appeals and expert witness services and the preparation of Development Plan Documents/Frameworks.

Appeal Work

Reach Lane Quarry, Leighton Buzzard

Client: Central Bedfordshire Council

Project management and preparation of evidence for an appeal hearing into the refusal of an extension of time at a silica sand quarry.  Heaton Planning acted on behalf of the Council and provided evidence at the appeal hearing.   

Twinwoods Business Park, Bedford

Client: Bedford Borough Council

Project management and preparation of evidence for an appeal into the refusal of a 120,000 tonnes per annum Energy from Waste facility.  Heaton Planning acted on behalf of the Council and provided evidence at the public inquiry.   

Wavedon Golf Course, Milton Keynes

Client: Milton Keynes Council

Preparation of evidence in respect of an appeal for the refusal of a thirty bay driving range with flood lighting at Wavedon Golf Course.

Planning Policy Work

Waste Development Framework, Telford and Wrekin

Client: Telford and Wrekin Council

Heaton Planning prepared a first draft of the Waste Core Strategy including Strategic Site Allocations on behalf of Telford and Wrekin Council.

Waste Local Plan, Leicestershire

Client: Leicestershire County Council

Heaton Planning prepared a schedule of formal revisions to the County’s Waste Local Plan in response to the Local Plan Inquiry Inspector’s Report.

Development Control Casework

Clients: Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire.

Heaton Planning has assisted County Council Planning Departments in the East Midlands with proposals for the County Council’s own schools development, including new school complexes, building extensions and annexes, temporary classrooms, fencing and sports areas. Heaton Planning also offer a service direct to schools and educational facilities in preparing Planning Applications for their on-campus developments.  Some of the projects that we have been involved with include:
