Heatons have gained planning permission on behalf of IGas to extend the life of two oil wells located close to Rempstone, in the Nottinghamshire countryside. The new permissions allow for a further ten years of oil and gas production from the wellsites, prior to their restoration to agriculture.

Heatons prepared a Planning Statement for both sites and worked proactively with Nottinghamshire County Council in order to secure extensions to the duration of drilling through variations of planning conditions, under Section 73 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990. These successful applications have extended the operational life of the sites to 2031.
