Heatons have secured planning permission at Appeal for the change of use of a dwellinghouse to a children’s care home. Our client had seen permission for the change of use initially refused in March 2021 as the Local Planning Authority had concluded that the use of the building to a children’s care home would have resulted in an unacceptable loss of amenity for neighbouring properties.

Heatons prepared a detailed Statement of Case and worked with the Appellant to successfully navigate the Appeal through to grant of planning permission. We are delighted that the property can now be used to provide a safe and homely environment for young people who find themselves in the care system.
