As featured in this month’s Quarry Management magazine, Heaton Planning have recently delivered lectures to mineral planners from across the UK as part of a bespoke Mineral Planning unit organised by the Institute of Quarrying.  Heaton Planning designed and organised a series of engaging and thought-provoking lectures which were presented by Company Director Simon Heaton.

The presentations revolved around the role of the mineral planner on an individual level and in the wider context of the Planning system.  Lectures were followed by site visits to Cliffe Hill Quarry in Leicestershire in order for the attendees to gain a valuable insight into the practicalities of how positive mineral planning can lead to sustainable minerals development.  Feedback from attendees has been positive, and the Institute of Quarrying have requested that Heaton Planning are involved in future learning courses run by the Institute.
