Permission Granted for Deepening of Haughmond Quarry, Staffordshire

Heaton Planning have helped secure planning permission for the deepening of Haughmond Quarry near Shrewsbury on behalf of Aggregate Industries.

Heaton Planning prepared a Planning Application for the quarry deepening, with associated assessment work.  The Application provides for the working of a further 9.4 million tonnes of high specification aggregate, which is of national importance due to its skid resistant properties for use on road surfaces. The deepening of the quarry also results in the retention of 33 jobs.

Planning Permission Granted for a Major Mixed-Use Development at former Theme Park

Heaton Planning have obtained planning permission, subject to a Section 106 agreement, on behalf of Waystone Developments Ltd, for a major mixed-use development in the Green Belt at Shipley Lakeside, near Heanor (the former American Adventure Theme Park).

The permission includes plans for over 300 homes, a retirement village, neighbourhood retail, business, leisure/assembly/training and garden centre, a pub and hotel/conference facility, and a health campus. The planning permission will see disused derelict land redeveloped into a sustainable community with incorporated nature conservation and biodiversity enhancements.

Planning Permission Granted for 700k Tonnes of Limestone Extraction at Thornhaugh Quarry, Peterborough

Peterborough City Council has granted planning permission to Bullimores Sand and Gravel Ltd for the working of limestone and backfilling of the quarry with inert material at Thornhaugh.  The proposal involves the extraction of approximately 700,000 tonnes of limestone. Waste infilling will take place as part of the approved restoration scheme, which will return the site to its original land use.

Heaton Planning produced the Planning Application and Environmental Statement as well as attending the Planning Committee on behalf of Bullimores Sand and Gravel, in order to achieve a positive outcome.

Planning Permission Granted for Extension to Whisby Quarry, Lincolnshire

Heaton Planning have secured planning permission for an extension to Whisby Quarry near Lincoln, on behalf of Lafarge Tarmac.  The development will see an additional 2.2 million tonnes of sand and gravel extracted from the quarry, providing aggregate that is essential for concrete production and associated construction uses.

Heaton Planning produced the major Planning Application and Environmental Statement on behalf of Lafarge Tarmac. As a result of this Permission, eleven jobs will be retained on-site and restoration of the site will allow for significant biodiversity improvements.

Barn Conversion – Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire

We are pleased to announce that we have secured Planning Permission for the change of use of a barn to a residential dwelling in Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire. Permission was granted in August 2013 following the preparation and submission of the Planning Application and negotiations with the Borough Council.

Newbold Quarry, Staffordshire

Heaton Planning have assisted Aggregate Industries in securing Planning Permission for an extension to the existing Newbold Quarry in Staffordshire to extract 13.5 million tonnes of sand and gravel. Staffordshire County Council resolved to grant Planning Permission in September 2013 and Heaton Planning were pleased to assist Aggregate Industries in the preparation and submission of the Planning Application and Environmental Assessment  and Statement
