Heatons has secured two planning permissions at Fauld Mine on behalf of British Gypsum. Firstly, we worked proactively with the client and Staffordshire County Council to facilitate the refurbishment of a building proposed to house the Mine’s gym, laboratory/office, and medical room. Upon confirmation with the County Council that the refurbishment of the building did not constitute ‘permitted development’, Heatons submitted a planning application for the building’s refurbishment.
Secondly, a further planning success has reconfigured the Mine’s car park and traffic layout for the Mine’s access. The new access separates HGVs routes from staff and visitor vehicle routes. Heatons’ own ecologists worked with the County Council to agree a scheme of compensatory woodland planting.
